Van Jones has resigned! Communist has been asked to leave the White House

Posted by ddenkhaus on September 6, 2009

Van Jones has resigned! A devastating victory, for Glenn Beck, Fox News and all of its supporters, against the progressives and there socialized movement. It is rather ironic that Van Jones organization Color Of Change, that he co-founded, a month ago started to go after Glenn Beck’s sponsors, to try to force him off the air. Well, he felt the full force of free thinking conservative minds. This country is not communist and will not let radicals seeking social justice represent American ideals.

September 6, 2009 @ 12:15 a.m.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House says President Barack Obama’s adviser Van Jones is resigning amid controversy over past inflammatory statements.

Van Jones, an administration official specializing in environmentally friendly “green jobs,” is linked to efforts suggesting a governmental role in the 2001 terror attacks and to derogatory comments about Republicans.

Jones issued an apology on Thursday. When asked the next day whether Obama still had confidence in him, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said only that Jones “continues to work in the administration.”

The White House issued a statement early Sunday saying Jones had quit the administration.

From PJ Media: So in case you’re coming in completely cold to the story, for a look back at the “vicious smear campaign” built largely around googling Jones’ past statements and interviews, click here, and follow the links:

Jennifer Rubin wrote shortly before Jones’ resignation was made public that “It’s hard to believe this isn’t a fictional character dreamed up by Obama’s conservative critics. No, unfortunately, Jones is very real”:

This offers further support for the argument that Obama’s flock of czars should be trimmed or eliminated. (It’s not like the administration’s Cabinet-vetting process was that great either, frankly.) But that’s a tangential point at this stage. The immediate issue is that the White House, under siege for its leftward lurch and battling the tag that the president is out of touch with ordinary Americans, is harboring such a figure. It’s hard to believe this isn’t a fictional character dreamed up by Obama’s conservative critics. No, unfortunately, Jones is very real.

And this, of course, won’t last. Eventually Jones will go, and then the talk will turn to how incompetent the White House has become, letting a bad story fester and doubts to increase as to the president’s judgment and values. (Remember when we were told that his superior judgment was the reason to elect him?) That is par for the course at the White House these days—unable to do the right thing and lacking the common sense to fake it.

Speaking of Fox News, something tells me that Glenn Beck is going to have reasonably good ratings on Monday.

Washington Post had a full statement from Van Jones, “I am resigning my post at the Council on Environmental Quality, effective today,” Jones said in a resignation letter released by the CEQ late Saturday.

“On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me. They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide,” he said.

“I have been inundated with calls — from across the political spectrum — urging me to ‘stay and fight,'” he continued. “But I came here to fight for others, not for myself. I cannot in good conscience ask my colleagues to expend precious time and energy defending or explaining my past. We need all hands on deck, fighting for the future.

“It has been a great honor to serve my country and my President in this capacity. I thank everyone who has offered support and encouragement. I am proud to have been able to make a contribution to the clean energy future. I will continue to do so, in the months and years ahead.”

If, as Levy wrote above, “Won’t it be weird when people who don’t get their news from the internet or FNC have no idea who the guy who resigned is?” — they’re not going to learn much more from this initial NBC report:

President Obama’s environmental adviser Van Jones resigned from his post late Saturday evening after he came under fire for a series of inflammatory statements he made about Republicans, the White House said early Sunday morning.

Jones, Obama’s green jobs “czar,” was caught on tape in an expletive-packed rant, directly attacking Republicans in the Senate who he said abused their majority position in the past to push legislation through. He told Politico after the statements were released that the comments were “inappropriate” and “offensive.”

“They do not reflect the experience I have had since joining the administration,” Jones said in the statement.

The White House kept mum about Jones Friday, telling reporters only Jones would remain as part of Obama’s administration.

No mention of trutherism, self-admitted communism, support for Mumia Abu Jamal, etc. It’s about those nasty ol’ “inflammatory statements he made about Republicans.”

Uh-huh. If that’s all it takes, watch for two-thirds of Congress to resign this weekend as well.

The following blog was taken from Gateway Pundit.

In case you haven’t heard it yet, Van Jones has a political CD out. Jones used his Ella Baker Center for Human Rights to found Freedom Fighter Music, the label WarTimes appeared on. WarTimes is also the name of an anti-war-on-al-Qaeda propaganda newspaper Jones helped organize. The album featured cop killer Mumia abu-Jamal.

Unbelievable!
Barack Obama’s wacky communist-Truther Green Czar who hated Bush, whitey and capitalism also spent some time in the music studio. While he was director of the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights Van Jones cut a vile CD against whites, the government, Israel, The Man, oil companies, and everything else American.
Van Jones was even featured in the recording!

Here are a few of the lines from hate-filled anti-white, anti-American, anti-Israeli recording by Van Jones and the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights:

Various Singers-Poets: The American way, manufactuered by these white folks in office. By these rich men here to mock us. The United States is a stolen land led by right-wing, war hungry, oil thirsty. And when it’s all said and done they still can’t clean their own place because they got people of color playing servant to do that sh*t for them… The true terrorists are made in the US, in this police state… The US is a crack-fiend for oil. And they’re ready to rape, kill, assault, rob anybody and everybody

Bombing babies in the night. Two wrongs don’t make a right… The US needs to exit its colonies in Iraq, in the region and finally in Israel.

Van Jones: At this point. The end of the occupation. The right of return of the Palestinian people. These are critical dividing lines in human rights. We have to be here. No American would put up with an Israeli-style occupation of their hometown for 53 days let alone 54 years. US tax dollars are funding violence against people of color inside the US borders and outside the US borders.

Van Jones sounds like fellow Jew-haters Bill Ayers, Rashid Khalidi, and Jeremiah Wright. What a shock.

Is it really that surprising that Barack Obama put him in charge of the Cap and Trade legislation?

More… A Saturday bonus– Van Jones haikus.
More Van Jones Clips: Don’t take Glenn Becks word for it, take Van Jones in his own words.

Sen. Kit Bond urges congressional hearing on Mr. Jones; GOP Rep. Pence calls for resignation

September 4, 2009 04:15 PM

The GOP is finally waking up on Obama czardom.

I’ve mentioned GOP House Rep. Jack Kingston’s bill on Czar Reform and Accountability before.

Today, GOP Sen. Kit Bond called for congressional oversight on nutball green jobs czar Van Jones:

U.S. Senator Kit Bond, ranking member of the Green Jobs and the New Economy Subcommittee of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, today called for a Congressional oversight hearing probing the fitness of a senior White House official.

In a letter to Senator Bernie Sanders, Chairman of the Subcommittee with oversight of administration green jobs efforts, Bond voiced concerned that Mr. Van Jones, as Special Advisor to the President for Green Jobs, is becoming increasingly erratic and unstable as reflected by incendiary comments and repugnant associations made public in recent days. Mr. Van Jones is responsible for directing administration policy and spending on tens of billions of dollars in taxpayer funding regarding environmental policy and green jobs programs. However, since the White House appointed him as a “czar,” Mr. Jones was able to avoid any oversight or confirmation by the U.S. Senate.

In his letter to Senator Sanders, Bond wrote, “Today, news outlets are reporting that Van Jones signed a petition from the so-called ‘Truther’ movement which suggests that the Bush administration ‘may indeed have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen, perhaps as a pretext to war.’ I can imagine few sentiments more repulsive to our brave fighting soldiers and the victims of the 9/11 terror tragedy than to think the U.S. government deliberately allowed the events of 9/11 to occur. Of course Mr. Jones in hindsight is embarrassed by the public disclosure of his participation in the petition drive and now asserts he did not read the fine print of the petition. But can the American people trust a senior White House official that is so cavalier in his association with such radical and repugnant sentiments?”

Ronald Reagan On Universal Healthcare – You can’t say we havent been warned!

Posted by ddenkhaus on August 28, 2009

 In case you missed this audio clip being played on The Glenn Beck Show today here it is:

Ronald Reagan On Universal Healthcare

Back in 1927 an American socialist, Norman Thomas, 6 times candidate for President the Socialist Party ticket. He said that,  “The American people will never vote for socialism.” But he said, “Under the name of liberalism the American people would adopt every fragment of the socialist program.”

There are many ways in which our government has invaded our precincts of private citizens, the method of earning a living, but at the moment, I would like to talk about another. Mainly because this threat is with us and at the moment is more immanent.

One of the traditional methods of imposing a statist or socialism on a people is very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project. Most people are a little reluctant to oppose anything that suggests medical care for people who possibly can’t afford it.

Now the American people, if you put it to them about socialize medicine and gave them a chance to choose. Would unhesitantly vote against it.

We have an example of this:

Under the Truman Administration, it was proposed that we have a compulsory health insurance program for all people in the United States. Of course the American people unhesitantly rejected it.

Congressman Foran said,  “If we can only break through and get our foot inside the door. Then we can expand the program after that.”  Well let’s see the socialist themselves say about it,  “They say, once the Foran bill is passed, this nation will be provided with a mechanism of socialized medicine. Capable of indefinite expansion in every direction until it includes the entire population.”

“Well you can’t say we havent been warned!” – Ronald Reagan

Bill Maher: America, you’re stupid.

Posted by ddenkhaus on August 26, 2009

Bill Maher: America, you’re stupid

August 26, 2009 – 12:46 ET – Source

Glenn Beck responds to Bill Maher’s comments on the Tonight Show with Conan O’brian.

Bill Maher: But yeah, I mean, they are talking about 60 votes. Forget this stuff, 60. We can’t get Americans to agree on anything 60%. 60% of people don’t believe in evolution in this country. He just needs to drag them to it. Like I just said, they’re stupid. Just drag them to this. Get healthcare done.

Glenn Beck : A year ago I didn’t know anything about the progressives except they were responsible for progressive income tax, they were responsible for prohibition. Why prohibition? Because it’s bad for you, and most people are just too stupid. They won’t stop drinking. So we will drag them to it. They also dragged 150,000 people who spoke out against the war that were too stupid to understand the benefits of World War I and they dragged those people to prison for speaking out.

GLENN: Let me start with Conan O’Brien last night interviewing Bill Maher. Here’s what the conversation turned to with healthcare, and I want you to listen to what he’s saying.

MAHER: But yeah, I mean, they are talking about 60 votes. Forget this stuff, 60. We can’t get Americans to agree on anything 60%. 60% of people don’t believe in evolution in this country. He just needs to drag them to it. Like I just said, they’re stupid. Just drag them to this. Get healthcare done.

GLENN: Stop, stop, stop. Listen to ‑‑ I mean, you’ve watched The View or you’ve heard the audio of The View or Conan or any of these shows. When usually you’ll have somebody say something like this, you’ll have a round of applause. Listen to the audience and their response. This is important for you to understand, not necessarily just what he’s saying but what is going on here. Bill Maher, I disagree with almost everything that spills out of this man’s mouth but I appreciate the fact that he at least says what he means and means what he says. You know who Bill Maher is. That’s a good thing. This is the kind of person that you can actually have an honest conversation with because I mean, he will throw bombs and everything else, but at least you can have an honest conversation because he’s not hiding behind some sort of political correctness and some persona that is all warm and fuzzy when indeed he’s a mountain lion behind it.

PAT: He’s obviously for tyranny, and he’s unabashedly so.

GLENN: You don’t have to even say that. Look, this is what he’s for.

PAT: Well, he’s for dragging people against their will to a certain conclusion. That’s tyranny.

GLENN: Let’s use the proper language. Let’s get out of the 1700s. That’s not tyranny. That’s progressivism. That’s what this is. This is why, I’m telling you, it is not a coincidence that I found two years ago the seeds of the progressive movement, and I started reading it saying, no way; it’s not a coincidence that you heard the broadcast when I said to you, my daughter came to me and she said she wanted to take Greek history. She wanted to take ancient history. That’s what she wanted her major to be in, ancient history. And I said, why ancient history? She said, because everything, Dad, that is about this country, she said everything, when you look at the country, there’s just too many bad guys. We’ve done too many bad things, and I’m sorry, Jon Stewart, here, take out your cash machine; make more money. I wept. Because if my daughter got there living with me in my house, how does the average person survive not growing up and hating this country? And I said to her, I’m going to prove you wrong. But you’re going to ‑‑ if you want me to pay for that education, you’re going to have to ‑‑ you’re going to have to read some of the things that I will show to you. But I’m going to prove you wrong. And the part that she really hated about American history was right around the turn of the century if I’m not mistaken. So I started doing my homework, and I went to her and I said just recently, maybe eight months ago, “You were right. You were right.” A year ago I thought Teddy Roosevelt was a good guy. A year ago I didn’t know anything about Woodrow

WILSON: Son. A year ago I didn’t know anything about the progressives except they were responsible for progressive income tax, they were responsible for prohibition. Why prohibition? Because it’s bad for you, and most people are just too stupid. They won’t stop drinking. So we will drag them to it. They also dragged 150,000 people who spoke out against the war that were too stupid to understand the benefits of World War I and they dragged those people to prison for speaking out.

PAT: You don’t want that to go through a court. You’d get a jury of stupid people who wouldn’t come to the proper conclusion. So makes sense really. When you think of it that way.

STU: That’s why you have judges to make sure the laws are right, make sure that you can’t do ‑‑

GLENN: Well, you don’t have ‑‑ they used to call them administrators that make sure they’re right. Now they’re more, well, I think they’re literally called czars.

STU: You can’t trust the people to vote in the right thing.

GLENN: You can’t trust the companies to do the right thing. You’ve got to have an administrator or a czar that is over, that oversees all of that. And the next thing is a czar to look at the broken system ‑‑ see if this sounds familiar. This is their belief in the early turn of the century ‑‑ to overlook the system and make the decisions outside of the system. With the best in business and the best in political theory and the best academics and the best community people. You get those people together and they write the laws. It’s exactly what’s happening now. So when Bill Maher says that, you know, hey, no big deal; people are just too stupid, it’s important for you to listen because that is what progressives believe: You are too stupid. It is the exact opposite of what most Americans left and right ‑‑ I shouldn’t even say left anymore. Democrat and right. It’s not what they believe. They believe in the individual. There are stupid people. What? I don’t open my eyes and walk down the street? But you know what? If you believe in evolution, you let the stupid people destroy themselves. No, no, they claim they’re there to help everyone. They are not there to help everyone. They are there to control everyone. Look at the cities of Philadelphia, Detroit, Washington, D.C. The progressives have had their hands around the throats of those cities for decades. They have had the city council, they have had the mayors. In Washington D.C. they’ve even had the federal government telling me exactly what to do. Well, what have those cities turned into? Let’s look at Chicago. What has that city turned into? Nothing but wrath and corruption. Because it’s not about helping people. It’s about using people to gain power, money and influence. That’s all it is. That’s all it is. They use minorities. They use children. They use emergencies to gain money and power. That’s it. And we’re doing a good thing because people are just too stupid. But listen to the response of the audience when he says this and then listen to what else he says.

VOICE: You know, with or without them, make the gang of six an offer they can’t refuse. This Max Baucus guy, he needs to wake up tomorrow with an intern’s head in his bed.

VOICE: Good Lord.

MAHER: I’m serious. I said this months ago and people criticized me. This is where the president needs to be ‑‑

GLENN: Stop, stop. Max Baucus should wake up with an intern’s bed in his head. Okay. Now, this is a ‑‑

PAT: Head in his bed.

STU: Head in his bed.

GLENN: Head in his bed?

STU: That doesn’t make any sense at all.

GLENN: See what I mean? Look, it was said in on a comedy show. I’m assuming that he meant it comedically.

STU: He would surely give you that break if you said something.

GLENN: Oh, no, he would surely.

STU: Oh, my God, yeah.

GLENN: And if that’s what he really believes, I want those people to say it. I want to know who they are. I want to know who they are. But listen to the audience.

Now, do you think I could say that somebody needs to wake up with an intern’s head in their bed and nobody would report on that? Do you think there might be somebody with picket signs outside of our broadcast facility?

PAT: No.

GLENN: Of course.

PAT: No, they would be open, they would be inclusive.

GLENN: Do you think they would call me a hate monger? Do you think they would call me a hate monger?

PAT: No, no.

GLENN: If I said that they should just make the gang of six an offer they can’t refuse and the people are too stupid and you’re going to drag them to it, do you think if I said that that I would be called a fascist?

STU: Of course not. I mean, they would clearly understand that when you said an offer you can’t refuse had nothing to do with the mob and tactics and violence, never.

Video: Obama is a charming liar?

Video Clip of the Air America Radio Show

Apparently even the left is admitting that Obama is a liar — but, to them he is a ‘charming’ liar. Wow. Listen to this clip which reveals the hypocrisy (with the video) of Obama’s back door deal with Big Pharma. He shook hands with, literally, the same guy he used on the campaign trail as an example of all that is evil with big business. But hey, at least when he breaks promises, he’s charming. That’s gotta count for something, right?

Glenn Beck: Reasonable questions for unreasonable times

Glenn Beck: Reasonable questions for unreasonable times

August 24, 2009

Am I hateful if I ask: 9 Min Video                    Click here: U.S. Debt CLOCK

– Our unfunded liability for Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid is close to $100 trillion. Is there any way to pay for these programs without bankrupting America?

– We are in so much debt, why spend more borrowed money on cap-and-trade and healthcare programs before we stop the flow of red-ink?

– The stimulus package funneled billions of dollars to ACORN. How does giving billions of dollars to ACORN stimulate the economy?

– If it was so important for congress to pass the stimulus bill before they even had time to read it why has only a fraction of the stimulus money been spent 6 months later?

– Bush said he had to abandon free market principles in order to save them, how exactly does that work?

– Why won’t members of Congress read the bills before they vote on them?

– Why are citizens mocked and laughed at when they ask their congressman to read the bills before they vote on them?

– Was the cash-for-clunkers program meant to save the earth or the economy? Did it accomplish either?

– How did Van Jones, a self-proclaimed communist become a special advisor to the president?

– Did President Obama know of Van Jones’ radical political beliefs when he named him special advisor?

– The Apollo Alliance claimed credit for writing the stimulus bill—why was this group allowed to write any portion of this bill?

– If politicians aren’t writing the bills and aren’t reading the bills, do they have any idea what these 1000 page plus bills actually impose on the American people?

– If the ‘public option’ health care plan is so good why won’t politicians agree to have that as their plan?

– If town hall meetings are intended for the politicians to learn what’s on our mind—why do they spend so much time talking instead of listening?

– Politicians are refusing to attend town hall meetings complaining, without evidence, that they are scripted. Does that mean we shouldn’t come out and vote for you since every campaign stop, baby kiss and speech you give is scripted?

– Why would you want to overwhelm the system?

– Is using the economic crises to rush legislation through congress what Rahm Emanuel meant when he talked about “not letting a crises go to waste”?

– What are the czars paid? What is the budget for their staffs/offices?

ALG to MSNBC: Fire Brewer, Ratigan, Toure

I wrote earlier how an MSNBC segment is drawing heat from conservatives who accuse the network of selectively cropping an image so as not to show that one of the people carrying guns at an Obama event was an African-American.

Now, Bill Wilson, president of Americans for Limited Government, is now calling on the network to fire those responsible for producing the broadcast, in what he describes as a “nefarious assault on decency.”

On behalf of the nearly half million members of Americans for Limited Government — and tens of millions of other equally appalled Americans of all races nationwide — I hereby demand the immediate termination of Contessa Brewer, Toure, Dylan Ratigan and any and all others involved in any way with the fraudulent “news” that ran in the 10:45AM segment of your August 18 broadcast.

Wilson sent the letter to NBC News President Steve Capus, and copied GE chief Jeffrey Immelt and MSNBC president.

UPDATE: An MSNBC spokesperson said the claim against the network are  “completely ridiculous.”

UPDATE 2: Olbermann showed more footage of the man on Aug. 19.

Mr. Steve Capus
NBC News
30 Rockefeller Plaza
New York, N.Y. 10112
Dear Mr. Capus:

On Tuesday, August 18, at 10:45 AM, your network — with a blatantly racist broadcast — took the falsification of the news to a dangerous new low. I am writing to you today on behalf of the 400,000 members of Americans for Limited Government nationwide to ask that all involved in this nefarious assault on decency be immediately fired from their jobs.

I am referring, of course, to the MSNBC “news” cast on that morning in which your anchors hysterically raised the specter of impending racial violence — while carefully cropping the very video upon which they based their duplicitous charges. Leading audiences nationwide to believe that militant whites were mounting violence against a black President, they deliberately covered up the fact that the individual they were framing was himself African-American.

I could go on with a graphic description of the horrendous misrepresentation foisted on the American people by your anchors and those who worked with them on your distorted reportage, but by now, I am sure that you are well aware of the despicable fraud they perpetrated. Even if you, like most Americans, were not watching MSNBC at the time, you undoubtedly have been apprised of the transgression by now.

Therefore, I will not waste your time or mine regurgitating the facts of the blatant abuse of the public trust. Instead, let me simply get to the vital thrust of this letter:

On behalf of the nearly half million members of Americans for Limited Government — and tens of millions of other equally appalled Americans of all races nationwide — I hereby demand the immediate termination of Contessa Brewer, Toure, Dylan Ratigan and any and all others involved in any way with the fraudulent “news” that ran in the 10:45AM segment of your August 18 broadcast.

You network has besmirched the dignity and honor of American people. You have endangered the life of the President of the United States. You have purposely fanned racial tensions. And you have deliberately lied to your own audience.

Failure on your part to act will be proof positive that you, your corporation and the corporation that owns you intended this deception. As such, you can no longer claim to be “press” in any sense of the word but will have crossed the line, becoming a political advocacy organization. That, then, becomes a matter for the FCC and the courts to consider the proper punishment for this gross transgression of the rules of a civil society.

Thank you.
William Wilson
President
Americans for Limited Government

Glenn Beck Exposes the Obama Administration and its Ties to Organized Progressives

Posted by ddenkhaus on August 13, 2009

A series of Glenn Beck video clips that exposes the Obama Administration and its ties to organized progressives. This is what they don’t want you to know. Where is the media in all this? They will report, this and that, but nobody dares connect the dots. The media fails us as usual and we are stuck having to rely on a commentator and his team of investigative journalists to bring us the facts. Is it really any wonder why he has the 3rd most listened to radio show and the 2nd on Fox behind Bill O’Rielly? People always tend to forget that he raised the ratings at CNN too and it was about the Bush Administration. I will add more clips as I get time.

Basically this “little” piece of legislation would make it illegal to own a firearm – any rifle with a clip or ANY pistol unless:

– It is registered
– You supply a current Driver’s License
– You supply your Social Security #
– You will submit to a physical & mental evaluation at any time of their choosing – Section 102 (a) (8) an authorization by the applicant to release to the Attorney General or an authorized representative of the Attorney General any mental health records pertaining to the applicant (that sounds rather intrusive)
– Each update – change or ownership through private or public sale must be reported and costs $25. Failure to do so you automatically lose the right to own a firearm and are subject up to a year in jail.
– Require licensing for anybody that owns a gun.
– Would require photographs and a thumbprint
– Federal Firearms I.D. Card – Section 103 (c) looks to be creating a federal firearms card, with your picture and information. This from the Party that goes ballistic over a national ID card.
– Would require passage of a test that covers:
(A) the safe storage of firearms, particularly in the vicinity of persons who have not attained 18 years of age;
(B) the safe handling of firearms;
(C) the use of firearms in the home and the risks associated with such use;
(D) the legal responsibilities of firearms owners, including Federal, State, and local laws relating to requirements for the possession and storage of firearms, and relating to reporting requirements with respect to firearms; and
(E) any other subjects, as the Attorney General determines to be appropriate;

**There is a child provision clause on page 16 section 305 stating a child-access provision. Guns must be locked and inaccessible to any child under 18.

**The Government would have the right to come and inspect that you are storing your gun safely away from accessibility to children and fine is punishable for up to 5 yrs. in prison.

**Section 104 makes it seem as if all renewals go through the AG of the USA. Does this mean that I have to go to a Federal office to reapply, rather then a local county office.

Normally, Id tell everyone not to worry too much, because its probably not going anywhere, but we cant take anything for granted in this Congress. Right now the bill has no co-sponsors, and has not been scheduled for a committee hearing, so it is no threat right now. But we should keep an eye on it.

The best way to fight this is to tell all your friends about it and “spring into action”. Also he suggests we all join a pro-gun group like hunting associations, gun clubs JPFO (JEWS FOR THE PRESERVATION OF FIREARMS OWNERSHIP) and especially the GOA and NRA.

This is just a “termite” approach to complete confiscation of guns and disarming of our society to the point we have no defense – chip away a little here and there until the goal is accomplished before anyone realizes it.

YOU MAY NOT OWN OR EVEN LIKE GUNS, but if you LOVE FREEDOM, YOU better get involved NOW!!!

TOMORROW YOU MAY NOT HAVE AN OPTION.

The Second Amendment…America’s original homeland security

In further research into this, I found that HR 1388: the Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act of 2009. This was passed and signed into law April 21, 2009.

Anyway, supposedly somewhere in this Bill there was a section that required anyone who is a part of the volunteering will be required to give up any firearms and licensing. As far as I know, there is no mandatory volunteerism required yet, but I could be wrong. President Obama and Michelle Obama talked about requiring this many times during the campaign. I wasn’t able to find the clip, but I did find this.

Imagine, you just want to help your community and if you are 18-25 would be required to do so if you have a federal backed student loan…and have to give up your rights with the 2nd Amendment.

Already males ages 18 through 25 living in the U.S. register with Selective Service to keep records in the event Congress and the President authorize a draft. What is the purpose of the service requirement under the GIVE act?

The purpose of the GIVE act is to “To reauthorize and reform the national service laws”, specifically the National and Community Service Act of 1990. HR 1388 reads:

‘(9) recognize and increase the impact of social entrepreneurs and other nonprofit community organizations in addressing national and local challenges;

‘(10) increase public and private investment in nonprofit community organizations that are effectively addressing national and local challenges and to encourage such organizations to replicate and expand successful initiatives;

‘(11) leverage Federal investments to increase State, local, business, and philanthropic resources to address national and local challenges;

‘(12) expand and strengthen service-learning programs through year-round opportunities, including during the summer months, to improve the education of children and youth and to maximize the benefits of national and community service, in order to renew the ethic of civic responsibility and the spirit of community to children and youth throughout the United States;

‘(13) assist in coordinating and strengthening Federal and other service opportunities, including opportunities for participation in emergency and disaster preparedness, relief, and recovery;

‘(14) increase service opportunities for our Nation’s retiring professionals, including such opportunities for those retiring from the science, technical, engineering, and mathematics professions to improve the education of our Nation’s youth and keep America competitive in the global knowledge economy, and to further utilize the experience, knowledge, and skills of older Americans;

‘(15) encourage the continued service of the alumni of the national service programs, including service in times of national need;

‘(16) support institutions of higher education that engage students in community service activities, provide service-learning courses, and encourage or assist graduates to pursue careers in public service in the nonprofit or government sector; and

‘(17) encourage members of the Baby Boom generation to partake in service opportunities.’.

HR 1388 specifically targets Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) and the National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) which Congress expects will reach 250,000 participants by 2014. From school-based service learning programs to focusing on severely economically depressed communities, the GIVE act sounds good until you get to part about the mandatory service requirement for youth. How can volunteerism be mandatory? The Future explains:

Section 6104 of The Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act requires that a commission be established to investigate, “Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.”

Of course I imagine cadres of youth working on environmental projects such as tree planting; however, I can’t get on board with the involuntary servitude. It’s even scarier when you consider Obama’s chief of staff Rahm Emanuel coauthored The Plan: Big Ideas for America that calls for compulsory service for Americans ages 18 to 25:

Here’s how it would work. Young people will know that between the ages of eighteen and twenty-five, the nation will enlist them for three months of civilian service. They’ll be asked to report for three months of basic civil defense training in their state or community, where they will learn what to do in the event of biochemical, nuclear or conventional attack; how to assist others in an evacuation; how to respond when a levee breaks or we’re hit by a natural disaster. These young people will be available to address their communities’ most pressing needs.

In fact, Obama and Biden ran on the idea of required community service for our youth:

Obama and Biden will set a goal that all middle and high school students do 50 hours of community service a year, and will establish a new tax credit that is worth $4,000 a year in exchange for 100 hours of public service a year.

I like the idea of a tax credit for public service, but I do not like the idea of mandatory service for our youth. Mandatory requirements do not ensure our youth will develop a sense of lifelong community service, and many churches and high schools already have such requirements for youth.

HR 1388 is currently on the Senate’s calendar. A cloture motion on the motion to proceed to the measure has been presented in Senate. Although I am in favor of community service, I am not in favor of mandatory service, as the GIVE act could take away our individual freedom. I am also concerned at what the goverment will deem service, like biochemical attack training mentioned in Emanuel’s book. What happens if a child does not complete their mandatory service requirement if the GIVE act passes and one is developed?
