“While advertisers abandon Glenn Beck, the audience clearly isn’t. It is still beating all the 5pm cable news network competition…combined.”

Who’s Really Bailing on Glenn Beck? – Newsbusters.org

“…democracy must be more than what the majority insists upon.”
Barack Obama, The Audacity of Hope

Let me take this opportunity to look into something the media won’t touch. All moonbat hands are unloading every cannon on the deck at Glenn Beck right now. According to the media, Glenn walks down the sidewalk with half a baby hanging out of his mouth pushing old ladies into traffic. Well, as my dear old dad used to say; “If everyone is aiming at you, you know you’re on to something.”

And what is Glenn on to? If you haven’t watched Glenn this week, go back and start at Monday because he has unlocked an unreported movement in this country that he believes may change all of our lives. Glenn’s genius is that as he falls on the sword he passes forward a series of questions we should all ask, like “Can we survive this debt? If yes, how?” or why do we have a (self-proclaimed) communist Czar running anything? These are questions that remain long after the media has chewed him up and spit him out. Voters may not remember what the media did to Glenn next year, but his questions are sure to persist as they cast their next vote.

Are these questions so out of line that they dare not be asked? The media thinks so. The left thinks so. Even Glenn’s own advertisers think so, they are pulling out by the dozens according to the news. Well let’s put our journalist shoes on and go where the media can’t seem to find with both hands. Let’s look at who is bailing on Glenn Beck.

Progressive Insurance. They don’t call it “Progressive” for nothing. This Peter Lewis run supawn was the engine that gave $8.5 million dollars to the ACLU. You may remember Peter Lewis as the billionaire with a painting of Chinese communist Mao Tse-tung hanging in his house. It’s a Warhol. The only thing more shocking than Progressive Insurance pulling their advertising from Glenn Beck is the idea that they ever became an advertiser to begin with.

Verizon/AT&T/Sprint. Oh, here come the telecoms strong with Verizon VP Jim Gerace hanging out the passenger window with a shotgun; “We made a decision that we don’t want to be advertising on that program for a lot of reasons.” I wonder if one of those reasons is that Glenn pointed out that Obama’s foot soldiers are the unions? And what union does Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint call daddy? The Communication Workers of America. It’s the site with the little AFL-CIO logo at the top. Well I’m sure the Communistcation Workers of America have no dog in this fight, but since we’re playing journalist (1940s black coffee journalist, not a Starbucks reporter) let’s zip over to OpenSecrets.org to see what we see. Oh, and look at that. OpenSecrets classifies the Communication Workers of America as a “Heavy Hitter”. They’ve given out $26.7 million dollars to politicians. But don’t worry, only 99% of that went to Democrats. I’d give these telecoms credit for not grabbing the $5 billion in Obama-dollars offered to them, but I won’t since the only reason they didn’t is the net neutrality conditions on taking it.

Walmart. Walmart recently “flabbergasted” the National Retail Federation after throwing in for Obama’s employer mandate on healthcare. Walmart also has a PAC, of which 64% goes to Democrats in the latest cycle. Oh, one other thing, Walmart’s CEO signed the letter announcing this change. Under his signature was the signature of Andrew Stern, President of the Service Employees International Union, and Obama abettor John Podesta, who is chief executive for the Center for American Progress. Why? The SEIU is a union that Glenn has been particularly vocal in outing as an arm of the Obama administration. They land at #9 on the Heavy Hitters list with $27.5 million going to politicians, 95% of which went to Democrats (and no, the other 5% did not go to Republicans.) On the other hand, it’s nice to see Walmart finally carrying Glenn’s books.

Best Buy. Why would Best Buy turn their back on Glenn Beck? Is it really public outrage or do they have anything at all to gain from going against someone who wants to expose Obama’s healthcare sham? MobileHealthNews.com: “Best Buy appears to be gearing up to re-enter the market in a very big way — this time, though, it looks like its healthcare technology offerings will remain in-house.”

Campbells Soup. Well this one just makes perfect sense, since they have been trying to transition into marketing the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community. You gotta move that Double Noodle any way you can.

UPS. UPS is Teamster turf. The Teamsters are a part of the AFL-CIO. The Teamsters are #10 on OpenSecret.org’s Heavy Hitter list, coming in with $27.4 million in donations, 92% of which went to Democrats. FedEx gave 58% of their PAC to Republicans, remember that next time you ship a package.

I bet you can’t wait until you’re forced to be in a union that gives your money to Democrats. One might almost think this all looks orchestrated. Nah, that would take one heck of an organizer to pull off something like that.

But just in case, keep in mind that boycotts work both ways.

Leaked e-mail shows how GE puts the government to work for GE

Posted by ddenkhaus on August 26, 2009

(AP)

“The intersection between GE’s interests and government action is clearer than ever,” General Electric Vice Chairman John G. Rice wrote in an Aug. 19 e-mail to colleagues.

Rice was calling on his co-workers to join the General Electric Political Action Committee. “GEPAC is an important tool that enables GE employees to collectively help support candidates who share the values and goals of GE.”

The full letter suggests that “share the values and goals of GE” really means “support policies that profit the company.”

Steve Milloy, a pro-free market investor at the Free Enterprise Action Fund, obtained this e-mail and says it reveals General Electric for what it really is. “GE is lobbying to become the biggest rent seeker this country has ever seen,” Milloy told this column. Rent seeking is using government legislation or regulation to generate private profits the free market wouldn’t provide.

“On climate change,” Rice wrote, “we were able to work closely with key authors of the Waxman-Markey climate and energy bill, recently passed by the House of Representatives. If this bill is enacted into law it would benefit many GE businesses.”

Most of all, Waxman-Markey would profit a GE joint venture called Greenhouse Gas Services, which deals in greenhouse gas credits, products that have value only if a cap-and-trade bill like Waxman-Markey passes.

The leaked e-mail shows how tightly GE connects PAC contributions and lobbying efforts. “Our Company is heavily impacted by a number of issues pending in Washington this fall,” Rice wrote.

GE spent more on lobbying in the second quarter of this year than did any other company, according to federal lobbying files. Since 1998, GE has been the king of lobbying expenditures, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, outpacing its runner-up by 40 percent.

Last election, GEPAC spent $2.4 million, with a slim majority going to Democrats. So far this year, two-thirds of GEPAC money has gone to Democrats.

Rice’s description of how PAC contributions help the company (“we must also make sure that candidates who share GE’s values and goals get elected to office”) belies the true dynamic in political giving, as the rest of the e-mail suggests.

By calling for PAC contributions in the context of GE’s lobbying efforts in coming weeks, Rice is clearly not talking about electing pro-GE candidates in November 2010. He is talking about making current congressman more pro-GE.

If GEPAC was just trying to “make sure that candidates who share GE’s values and goals get elected to office,” why would the PAC give $15,000 each to the Republican and Democratic senatorial campaign committees? Those contributions cancel each other out if they are considered ammunition for allies in electoral battles. But they complement one another if they are considered the ticket price to access with lawmakers.

The recipient list of GEPAC cash also suggests the PAC is more about access to power brokers than support for friendly politicians.

Rep. Charlie Rangel of Harlem received $2,000 from GEPAC. He is not in electoral danger, but he is chairman of the tax-writing Ways and Means Committee. Rep. Henry Waxman of Hollywood also doesn’t need GE’s help getting elected, but the $1,000 from GEPAC might make Waxman, who’s chairman of the Commerce Committee, more amenable to a GE-friendly climate bill or health care reform bill.

Of the six House members who have received more than $4,000 from GEPAC this cycle — all Democrats — only Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., faces a tough re-election next year, thanks to accusations that he has used his chairmanship of the Defense Appropriations subcommittee to benefit donors and patrons. GE is a top defense contractor.

The other top recipients are all safe incumbents in powerful positions: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Budget Committee Chairman John Spratt, House Majority Whip Steny Hoyer, Ways and Means member Richard Neal, who chairs the subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures, and key appropriator Norm Dicks.

The “intersection between GE’s interests and the government’s actions” is plenty crowded. GE is betting on climate change legislation, high-speed rail funding, electric car subsidies, embryonic stem cell grants, expanded federal health care spending, subsidies for renewable energy, defense contracts and continued financial bailouts.

GEPAC pays the tolls to make sure all this traffic gets through.

Video: Obama is a charming liar?

Video: Obama is a charming liar?

Video Clip of the Air America Radio Show

Apparently even the left is admitting that Obama is a liar — but, to them he is a ‘charming’ liar. Wow. Listen to this clip which reveals the hypocrisy (with the video) of Obama’s back door deal with Big Pharma. He shook hands with, literally, the same guy he used on the campaign trail as an example of all that is evil with big business. But hey, at least when he breaks promises, he’s charming. That’s gotta count for something, right?

Glenn Beck: Reasonable questions for unreasonable times

Glenn Beck: Reasonable questions for unreasonable times

August 24, 2009

Am I hateful if I ask: 9 Min Video Click here: U.S. Debt CLOCK

– Our unfunded liability for Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid is close to $100 trillion. Is there any way to pay for these programs without bankrupting America?

– We are in so much debt, why spend more borrowed money on cap-and-trade and healthcare programs before we stop the flow of red-ink?

– The stimulus package funneled billions of dollars to ACORN. How does giving billions of dollars to ACORN stimulate the economy?

– If it was so important for congress to pass the stimulus bill before they even had time to read it why has only a fraction of the stimulus money been spent 6 months later?

– Bush said he had to abandon free market principles in order to save them, how exactly does that work?

– Why won’t members of Congress read the bills before they vote on them?

– Why are citizens mocked and laughed at when they ask their congressman to read the bills before they vote on them?

– Was the cash-for-clunkers program meant to save the earth or the economy? Did it accomplish either?

– How did Van Jones, a self-proclaimed communist become a special advisor to the president?

– Did President Obama know of Van Jones’ radical political beliefs when he named him special advisor?

– The Apollo Alliance claimed credit for writing the stimulus bill—why was this group allowed to write any portion of this bill?

– If politicians aren’t writing the bills and aren’t reading the bills, do they have any idea what these 1000 page plus bills actually impose on the American people?

– If the ‘public option’ health care plan is so good why won’t politicians agree to have that as their plan?

– If town hall meetings are intended for the politicians to learn what’s on our mind—why do they spend so much time talking instead of listening?

– Politicians are refusing to attend town hall meetings complaining, without evidence, that they are scripted. Does that mean we shouldn’t come out and vote for you since every campaign stop, baby kiss and speech you give is scripted?

– Why would you want to overwhelm the system?

– Is using the economic crises to rush legislation through congress what Rahm Emanuel meant when he talked about “not letting a crises go to waste”?

– What are the czars paid? What is the budget for their staffs/offices?

Glenn Beck Exposes the Obama Administration and its Ties to Organized Progressives

Posted by ddenkhaus on August 13, 2009

A series of Glenn Beck video clips that exposes the Obama Administration and its ties to organized progressives. This is what they don’t want you to know. Where is the media in all this? They will report, this and that, but nobody dares connect the dots. The media fails us as usual and we are stuck having to rely on a commentator and his team of investigative journalists to bring us the facts. Is it really any wonder why he has the 3rd most listened to radio show and the 2nd on Fox behind Bill O’Rielly? People always tend to forget that he raised the ratings at CNN too and it was about the Bush Administration. I will add more clips as I get time.

**I am out of town and just piecing this together as I have time.

Why the Dems are Surprised at the Uprising

Posted by ddenkhaus on August 10, 2009

Why the Dems are Surprised at the Uprising

This time, it matters

Posted by : Jimbobfunny August 10, 2009 – 11:39am

Democrats in congress and the White House seem to be taken a bit off guard by the recent volume and intensity of the protests around the country, particularly at the congressional town hall meetings on so-called health care reform. As a conservative watching the dismantling of the free market system, one might be surprised at their apparent niavity. Don’t be.

Remember, this type of reaction didn’t happen the last time they were in power. When Bill Clinton finally admitted that not having sexual relations included having sexual relations, conservatives were upset, annoyed, disgusted, angered, and quite a few other descriptors, but they didn’t rise up in peaceful rebellion like today. Why not? Well, simply, Clinton’s actions didn’t rise to the level of an uprising. (Whether or not they rose to the level of an impeachable offense we’ll leave open for now.)

The time before that, when Jimmy Carter was in office, we did see the American farmers join forces in desperation and march on Washington as the American Agriculture movement, but farmers make up less than 4% of the population, and are easily ignored by the media, so most left-wingers at the time either didn’t hear about those events at all, or if they did, found them amusing at best. (Lost in the shuffle was all these farmers in DC with their tractors when one of the worst blizzards in years hit…and like the good folks they are, spent a good bit of their time pulling people out of ditches and snow banks without compensation instead of protesting.)

The time before that, when LBJ was in power, things were certainly ugly, but you have to remember that was over 40 years ago, and many of the current liberal bureaucrats were only children then, or not even born yet. And even those that were teens or young adults remember that time as a protest against conservative causes, even though the war was being run by an ultra-liberal president and a democrat congress.

So it really is no surprise that the grab for power in recent days has elicited a strong response from the conservative people who make up the folks that keep this country running and drive its economy. And its also not a surprise that the leftists in power can’t understand this rejection on a new level, given the safe working environment they’ve had in this country for the past 30 years or so by a friendly media and entrenched liberal federal bureaucracy.

It remains to be seen if the people affected most by this power grab will sustain their protests long and hard enough to have a significant effect on their congress-people. But the next five weeks are going to be interesting.

C-Span caller rips them a new one for spreading the mainstream media lies!

Posted by ddenkhaus on August 9, 2009

Leah in New Hampshore lets C-Span have it. This lady spells it out plainly how people are all feeling about this mess that has been manufactured by the Whitehouse…

I myself went to my first protest/gathering tea party on April 15th, 2009 in Fort Myers, FL. I also contacted the woman who was putting it together and volunteered at the event. Myself and 8 others specifically checked all signs and clothing to make sure that it was appropriate for the event. The last thing anyone wanted to see was a liberal blogger showing up wearing swastikas. We didn’t have any problems. It was a mix of people, races and country origins. There was nothing manufactured about me taking my time out to show up. Nobody paid me or anything else there. Almost all of the right wing organizations the media brings up have never even heard of by most.

Health care reform is needed and most people welcome it. How about we start by getting rid of the 113,000 pages of current reform? Remove all insurance mandates, so that we no longer are required to pay for things that will never apply to us. We dont want the failed medicare program to be aggresively expanded into all aspects of our lives and health care system. We know it will be a massive tragedy of deficits.

YouTube – State Mandates for Health Insurance: I’m Paying for WHAT!?

Posted by ddenkhaus on August 7, 2009

Shelly Roche investigates how government inflates health insurance premiums by mandating certain coverages. What health insurance mandate(s) is your state forcing you to unnecessarily pay for?

YouTube – State Mandates for Health Insurance: I’m Paying for WHAT!?

You can find her full article and website here: <a href=”http://bytestyle.tv/content/state-mandates-health-insurance-find-out-what-youre-paying-and-dont-need”> http://Bytestyle.tv</a>

State mandates on health insurance are a major factor in the high cost of coverage. I did some research to find out what I’m paying for (and don’t want or need):

State: Maryland
Cost of Coverage: about $500/month

Here are just a few of the dozens of things I’m paying for:

In-Vitro Fertilization – accounts for 3-5% of my premium
Morbid Obesity Treatment – accounts for 1-3% of my premium
Smoking Cessation – accounts for 1-3% of my premium
Well Child Care – accounts for 1-3% of my premium
Alcoholism/Substance Abuse – accounts for 1-3% of my premium
Hair Prosthesis – accounts for 1% of my premium

I’m not morbidly obese, I don’t smoke, I don’t have kids (nor am I looking to get pregnant any time soon, sorry mom!), and I’m pretty sure I don’t need rehab.

If I tally it up, these items are responsible for up to 18% of my premium. That’s almost $100/month I’m paying for coverage I absolutely do not want or need.

I also learned that there are nearly 2,133 mandates like these, which are responsible for group health insurance premium increases of 20 to 50 percent.

So… maybe there’s a good reason for these mandates?

Nope!

J.P. Wieske, director of state affairs for the Council for Affordable Health Insurance (CAHI), says “For state legislators, [mandates are] used as a special interest tool to reward lobbyists with a specific mandate and let someone else pay for it”

So, I have a question for Congress and President Obama: Can any of you tell me why this isn’t being discussed as part of your health care reform plan?

It seems pretty logical to me: Don’t make people pay for coverage they don’t need, then when premiums are significantly lower, won’t millions more Americans be able to afford healthcare?

FIND OUT YOUR STATE’S HEALTH INSURANCE MANDATES, thanks to the Council for Affordable Health Insurance.

Here’s a more in-depth explanation of mandated benefits.

The most common state mandates:
Alcoholism/substance abuse treatment
Breast reconstruction
Diabetic supplies
Emergency services
Mammography
Maternity minimum stay
Mental health parity

Unusual mandates:
Athletic trainer
Circumcision
Hair prosthesis
Midwife
Naturopath
Oriental medicine
Pastoral counseling
Port wine stain elimination (birthmark removal)
Residential crisis service

Glenn Beck – Beck Talks – What is the most corrupt stimulus state?

Posted by ddenkhaus on August 7, 2009

A non-partisan watchdog group conducted a study of all 50 states to find out which ones were the most transparent in tracking the stimulus money they received. Part of President Obama’s most transparent government plan included the states keeping tabs on all the money. How is that working out? Not too well, as you can imagine. So bad in fact, one state managed to score a ‘zero’ on a scale of 1-100. Any takers on which state it is? Glenn explains in his latest video blog ‘Beck Talks’ episode. WATCH
